Health Camp held at Lok Bhawan

Dehradun, 7 Apr: On the occasion of World Health Day, an event was organised at Lok Bhawan here, today, at which the First Lady, Gurmeet Kaur, participated as the Chief Guest. The programme, held under the aegis of Reckitt and Plan India, included a health camp for families residing in Lok Bhawan, where expert doctors conducted free health check-ups.
Gurmeet Kaur emphasised the need to pay special attention to the health of women and children, stating that a healthy woman forms the foundation of a healthy family and society. She highlighted the importance of child nutrition, hygiene, and regular health check-ups.
The First Lady also spoke about the connection between cleanliness and health, noting that simple habits such as regular handwashing, using clean water, and maintaining cleanliness in one’s surroundings can help prevent many diseases. She described this as not only a personal responsibility but also a community duty, urging citizens to incorporate these practices into their daily lives.
Appreciating awareness campaigns like “Dettol Banega Swasth India,” she said such initiatives play an important role in promoting hygiene and health awareness among the public. She congratulated all the organisations and the DBSI team associated with the campaign for their commendable efforts.
On the occasion, participants who performed excellently in various games and competitions were also honoured.
The event was attended by Secretary to the Governor Ravinath Raman, Assistant Amit Srivastava, Financial Controller Dr Tripti Srivastava, Dr AK Singh, Dr Pranjali Thapa, Programme Manager of Reckitt and Plan India Syed Ali Naqvi, Manager Plan India Sanjay Singh, along with officials and staff of Lok Bhawan.
