Dehradun: A free medical camp was organised by the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Uttarakhand (SSSSO), in association with the Chief Medical Officer, Dehradun, on, at KKM Kusht Ashram in the Nalapani-Sahastradhara area of Dehradun. The camp aimed to provide basic healthcare services, medical consultation and health screening to people in need.Around 50 people underwent health check-ups during the camp. Patients were examined by doctors from various medical specialties. The medical team attended to five patients for ENT-related ailments, 12 cases related to orthopaedic conditions, 11 patients for eye-related problems and 15 cases pertaining to gynaecological health. In addition, 10 patients were examined by a general physician.During the screening, five people were identified with high blood pressure, while two cases of diabetes were also detected. The patients were provided medical advice and guidance based on their health conditions.A team of around 30 Seva Dal volunteers from SSSSO Dehradun actively assisted in conducting the camp. The team comprised senior devotees, coordinators, Samiti members and Bhajan Mandali in-charges associated with Kandli, Gorakhnath, Garhi, Nageshwar, Clementown, Anarwala, Durga Mandir and Dakara areas. The volunteers worked under the leadership of the State Vice-President of SSSSO Uttarakhand.The Seva Dal volunteers assisted patients with registration, coordination and movement through the various medical services. They also extended support to the doctors and helped ensure smooth functioning of the camp. In addition to the medical arrangements, the organisation made arrangements for Narayan Seva, providing food and refreshments to doctors and patients attending the camp.The organisers said the initiative was not limited to medical screening but was also intended to promote awareness about the importance of community service and compassion towards those in need. Since many of the doctors and beneficiaries attending the camp were not associated with the organisation, the volunteers also introduced them to the service-oriented message of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, including the principles of “Seva Paramo Dharma” (Service is the highest duty), “Manav Seva Is Madhav Seva” (Service to humanity is service to the Divine) and “Love All, Serve All.”Vibhuti and photographs of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba were also distributed among the doctors, patients and other participants at the camp.The organisers emphasised that community-based health camps can help facilitate early health screening and connect people with appropriate medical guidance, particularly those who may face difficulties in accessing healthcare services. The camp also provided an opportunity for volunteers and medical professionals to work together in extending healthcare support to the local community.Capt. Ajay Swarup, Vice-President, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Uttarakhand, said the organisation would continue to undertake service activities aimed at supporting the community and spreading awareness about the importance of healthcare, compassion and voluntary service.
