Sunday, 30 June 2024 | my uttarakhand news | DEHRADUN Light to moderate rain was experienced in various parts of the State on Saturday, a day after the monsoon covered the entire State. For Sunday, the State meteorological centre has issued an orange alert regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in Haridwar, Dehradun, Bageshwar and Nainital districts. A yellow warning (Watch) has also been issued regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places over all districts of the State. Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at isolated places in Pithoragarh, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Pauri, Udham Singh Nagar and Champwat districts today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in Dehradun and Nainital district, at a few places in Chamoli and Rudraprayag districts and at many places in the remaining districts of the State on Sunday. Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky with few spells of rain/thundershowers likely to occur. One or two spells of intense/heavy rainfall are also likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 33 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Saturday were 35.4 degrees Celsius and 25.9 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 34.6 degrees Celsius and 26.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 20.7 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 28 degrees Celsius and 19 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. There was 55 millimetres of rain in Nainital, 40.5 millimetres in Haldwani, 17 millimetres in Dehradun, 14 millimetres in Laldhang and 10.5 millimetres in Lansdowne.
