Hilton’s School celebrates Golden Jubilee Grand Finale

Dehradun, 22 Dec: Hilton’s School celebrated its Golden Jubilee Grand Finale on 20 December, commemorating fifty years of excellence in education, human enrichment, and service to society at large. The occasion was graced by eminent environmental activist and scholar Dr Vandana Shiva as the Chief Guest, in the presence of members of the Board of Governors, principals of schools in Dehradun, eminent guests, alumni, parents, students, and other dignitaries.
The celebration reflected the school’s illustrious journey since its establishment in 1975 by its visionary founder, Esme Maureen Hilton, whose ideals continue to illuminate and inspire young minds. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a warm welcome address by the Principal, David Hilton.

A vibrant cultural programme unfolded with a graceful invocation dance that left the audience in respectful awe. The melodious choir performances and a nostalgic presentation traced the school’s journey of growth from its inception to the Golden Jubilee year. A grand portrayal of Incredible India’s rich cultural mosaic through regional dances and rhythms highlighted the nation’s unity in diversity and culminated in a special tribute to ‘Dev Bhoomi’ Uttarakhand, celebrating twenty-five years of its formation. The function also featured a felicitation ceremony honouring distinguished personalities who have contributed significantly to the school’s progress and helped shape its enduring legacy.
The prestigious ‘Hiltonite of the Year’ award was conferred upon Sapeksh Raj Trehan, Head Boy of the ISC Batch 2025–26, for exemplifying the values and spirit of Hilton’s School. The school motto, “Multum in Parvo – Much in Little”, was beautifully brought to life through a poetic presentation by alumna Sharon Macmohan, the school’s first Head Girl (1998). Alumna Andrea House, Head Girl (2000–2001), invoked divine blessings for the school community.
The junior and primary sections delighted the audience with a nostalgic medley of foot-tapping songs and dances. A special tribute to the school, “Heaven was Hiltons”, filled hearts with emotion, while the hymn “All Things Bright and Beautiful” reflected reverence for nature’s harmony and beauty.
In her address, Dr Vandana Shiva congratulated the school on achieving this historic milestone and lauded its commitment to environmental consciousness. She encouraged students to establish ‘Gardens of Hope’ within the school and at their homes to nurture ecological sensitivity and promote sustainable living.
The Golden Jubilee Grand Finale concluded on a joyous note with the “Christmas Hallelujah”, which was followed by the spirited singing of the school song.
