Dehradun, 7 Jan: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has entered into the second phase of its membership campaign, with hundreds of political workers, including Block Pramukhs and Councillors, joining the party ranks at a function held at the BJP State Headquarters here today. Speaking on the occasion, State President and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt claimed that amidst attempts to vitiate the atmosphere, the enthusiasm of those joining the party clearly demonstrates that the public remains firmly with the BJP.
BJP’s State Media In-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan shared that the second phase of the membership drive was launched today at the party’s state headquarters here. In the presence of State President Bhatt, a large number of public representatives and political activists from Dehradun, Rishikesh, Pauri, and Roorkee formally joined the party. He observed that the transformation of the country since 2014 has been remarkable and assured the newcomers that their aspirations for regional development and public welfare would be prioritised. He cited various initiatives such as the 50 per cent reservation in panchayats since 2008, 33 per cent horizontal reservation in government jobs, the Lakhpati Didi scheme, and the 30 per cent quota for women in legislative bodies as evidence of the party’s commitment to empowering the “Matrushakti”.
