PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the Uttarakhand government is committed to make Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) Khurpiya an important centre for the State’s industrial development and its timely completion. He was addressing the third apex monitoring meeting of the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) in a virtual manner on Monday. The meeting was held in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The meeting review of the progress of important projects related to the industrial corridors in the country was held. Dhami said National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation is in complete possession of the 1,002 acres of land earmarked for the project and there are currently no obstacles at the project site. He stated that the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for IMC Khurpiya was executed on March 20, 2026 and the construction has commenced. A total of 24.1 kilometres of Right of Way (ROW) has been cleared and made available to the EPC contractor, following which other necessary works including road construction, are progressing rapidly. The CM stated that the success of any large industrial cluster is not limited to the establishment of industrial units but it also requires strong connectivity, reliable power supply and modern trunk infrastructure.  “To this end, the State government is prioritizing the strengthening of IMC Khurpiya’s external infrastructure. The work for a four-lane of 10.7 km of the Nagla-Kichha State Highway -44 is underway. This route will play a vital role in providing better road connectivity to IMC Khurpiya and boosting industrial activity in the area,’’ he said.  The CM also added that the Power Transmission Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited (PTCUL) is working to ensure timely construction of a 400/220 kV substation for uninterrupted and adequate power supply for the project. He said that strong power and road connectivity will provide a strong foundation for the industrial units to be established at IMC Khurpiya.  Dhami claimed that the works related to the trunk infrastructure of IMC Khurpiya are proposed to be completed by December 2028. He said that the officers have been directed to pay special attention to continuous monitoring of each stage of the project.   In the meeting the CM requested for necessary cooperation and coordination from the Government of India and the SPV formed by NICDIT to bring this important project to completion within the stipulated time frame. He said that coordinated efforts between the central and state governments will enable the development of IMC Khurpia into a modern, competitive, and investment-friendly industrial hub.
