Dehradun, 26 Dec: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a programme organised on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas at Gurudwara Guru Singh Sabha, Arhat Bazaar, here, today. During the event, he offered prayers at the Guru Singh Sabha and also partook in the Langar. He joined the Sangat in the holy Ardas and prayed for peace, prosperity, and happiness in the state.
Paying tribute to Guru Gobind Singh and his four Sahibzadas, namely Ajit Singh, Jujhar Singh, Zorawar Singh, and Fateh Singh, on Veer Bal Diwas, Dhami said that their lives are a living example of sacrifice, valour, protection of faith and patriotism. He remarked that they laid down their lives to protect the self-respect of India and the faith.
The CM also observed that the sacrifice of the Sahibzadas remains the greatest example of bravery and courage not only in Indian history but across the world. He underlined that such courage, determination and pious sacrifice are unparalleled in history. He emphasised that the young heroes chose death over forced religious conversion, proving that there is no age limit when it comes to defending one’s faith and national pride. He added that future generations can never forget this immortal sacrifice.
Dhami further stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has accorded the brave Sahibzadas their true honour for the first time. By declaring 26 December as Veer Bal Diwas, the PM has connected the entire nation with the glorious history of the Sikhs. He said that under Modi’s leadership, the government is working to preserve the glorious past while moving forward with a resolve to build the India envisioned by these brave martyrs.
During the programme, Dhami also called upon parents and teachers to narrate the saga of the Sahibzadas to their children so that the coming generation can take pride in their religion, culture, and traditions.
Among those present on the occasion were Guru Singh Sabha President Gurbaksh Singh Rajan, General Secretary Gulzar Singh, Vice President Charanjeet Singh, BJP General Secretary Deepti Rawat, Siddharth Agarwal, Infrastructure Monitoring Council Vice Chairman Vishwas Dawar and senior BJP leaders Puneet Mittal and Shyam Agarwal.
