DEHRADUN, 6 Jan: A Jayanti programme commemorating Nityanand Swami—Uttarakhand’s first Chief Minister and former Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council—was organised by the Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Seva Samiti.
Former Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari paid homage and recalled Swami‘s visionary leadership, simplicity, integrity, and exemplary life. He stated that Nityanand Swami laid a strong foundation for the state of Uttarakhand, and the key decisions taken during his tenure continue to guide the state even today.

The programme was attended by former Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Swami Chidanand Saraswati of Parmarth Niketan Rishikesh, Rajya Sabha Members of Parliament Naresh Bansal and Mahendra Bhatt, MLAs Khajan Das, Sahdev Pundir and Prem Chand Aggarwal, Minister of State Bhagat Prasad Makwana, Dr Geeta Khanna, Vinod Uniyal, and several other distinguished guests.

During the programme, the Samiti showcased its major social initiatives, including Shramdaan, summer camps, Project Srijan, clothing and utility banks, digital empowerment, and animal welfare. Additionally, three informative video presentations highlighting three major programmes conducted over the past year were screened and widely appreciated by the dignitaries present.

The speakers emphasized that the Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Seva Samiti, inspired by the ideals of revered Swami Ji, remains continuously engaged in public welfare and service activities throughout the year, and looks forward to the cooperation of all sections of society in carrying forward his values and vision.

During the program, distinguished personalities from various fields were honored with the following awards in recognition of their outstanding contributions: Clean Politics Award – Mahendra Bhatt, RS MP; Uttarakhand Gaurav Award – Padma Shri awardee Dr Yashodhar Mathpal, internationally renowned archaeologist; Medical Service Decoration – Padma Shri awardee Dr RK Jain, Founder, CMI Hospital; Industry Decoration – Ashok Windlass, Promoter, Windlass Biotech Limited; Cultural Heritage Decoration – Suresh Joshi, Founder, Sanskritik Studio; Educationist Honour – Dr Kamal Ghanshala, Founder Chairman, Graphic Era Group; Business Decoration – Anil Gupta and Suresh Gupta, Directors, Suvidha Supermarket; Social Service Decoration – Prem Prakash Sharma, Social Worker; Environment Decoration – Mohan Chandra Kandpal, Jal Yodha (Water Conservationist); and Fine Arts Decoration – Shri Dinesh Lal, Sculptor.
Philanthropist Dr S Farooq; Chairman of Doon International School, DS Mann; RK Bakshi, Jyotsana Sharma, Vinayak Sharma, and members of Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Seva Samiti, were present amongst others.
