Dehradun, 14 Oct: The first day of the two–day Annual Day celebrations at Kasiga School was marked with excitement, energy, and a festive spirit, combining the school’s much-anticipated Annual Athletics Meet with the Annual Fete. The event began today with the athletics meet, a showcase of sportsmanship, teamwork, and determination, followed by the Annual Fete featuring food stalls offering delicious treats from KFC, Perch, Starbucks, and more, delighting students, parents, and visitors alike.
The verdant greens of Kasiga School came alive as the ceremony commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Major General Sanjay Sharma, a highly decorated officer of the Indian Army. He was warmly welcomed by Ramesh Batta, Chairman of Kasiga School; Directors Chandni Batta and Siddharth Batta; Mentor and Advisor Dr Madhav Deo Saraswat; and Deputy Head of School Arundhati Shukla. In his address, Maj Gen Sharma inspired students to embrace discipline, courage, and perseverance — qualities essential both, on the field and in life. He lauded Kasiga School’s commitment to holistic education and character building through sports.

The event began with the Torch Relay, a symbolic run celebrating determination and athletic excellence, led by some of Kasiga’s most accomplished athletes. This was followed by the Inter House March Past, featuring the four houses — Amazon, Everest, Nile, and Pacific — marching in perfect harmony to the beat of the prestigious Police Band. A spectacular Mass PT Display highlighted the students’ discipline, coordination, and fitness, while a breathtaking Yoga Display showcased strength, serenity, and balance through synchronised asanas performed by the school’s young yogis.
The athletics events that followed featured nail-biting finishes across track and field categories — from 100m sprints to relay races, obstacle courses, and field events — with students giving their best performances cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd. Adding to the excitement were friendly competitions such as Tug of War matches between alumni and students, as well as between staff and parents, moments that celebrated unity and community spirit. Demonstrations by the school’s shooting team further highlighted Kasiga’s growing prowess in precision sports.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony was a proud moment for all, as medals and trophies were awarded to outstanding athletes by the Chief Guest and dignitaries. The prestigious Inter House Trophies were announced for March Past, PT Display, and Athletics, adding to the competitive zeal among the four houses. The meet concluded with the Vote of Thanks, and the National Anthem, marking the end of a day that celebrated not just competition but the true spirit of sportsmanship and unity.
