Lohri celebrated at Lok Bhawan in Doon

Dehradun, 9 Jan: On the auspicious occasion of the Lohri festival, a grand programme was organised at Lok Bhawan, Dehradun, with enthusiastic participation from a large number of women. The programme was presided over by the First Lady of the State, Gurmeet Kaur. On this occasion, all participants exchanged Lohri greetings and prayed for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the nation and the state.

Addressing the gathering, Gurmeet Kaur emphasised the empowerment of women and called upon society to become more sensitive and aware of gender justice. She stated that today women have moved far beyond the traditional confines of household roles and are setting new benchmarks in every field, including education, administration, science, sports, and entrepreneurship.
She urged women to ensure active participation in the fields of education, skill development, and leadership in order to realise the ideals of social justice and gender justice, thereby contributing to the creation of an equitable and empowered society.
On this occasion, Financial Controller Dr Tripti Srivastava, Dr. Pranjali Thapa, and a large number of women were present. The programme effectively conveyed the message of women’s empowerment along with cultural celebration to the general public.
