Sunday, 21 April 2024 | my uttarakhand news | DEHRADUN  The data of the Election Commission shows that maximum voter turnout was reported in Haridwar Lok Sabha constituency in the State where 62.36 per cent voters exercised their franchise. In comparison only 46.94 per cent turnout was reported in the Almora (SC) reserved constituency which is lowest in the State. In Garhwal LS constituency 50.84 per cent turnout was reported this time while in Tehri constituency 52.57 per cent turnout was reported. In Nainital- Udham Singh Nagar constituency 61.35 per cent turnout was reported in this election.  The data shows that 73.21 per cent voters came out to vote in Haridwar rural Assembly segment under Haridwar LS constituency which is highest in the State. In comparison only 32 per cent turnout was reported in the Salt assembly constituency which is the part of the Almora (SC) reserved constituency.  In Almora LS constituency, Champawat Assembly segment reported the highest turnout at 56 per cent. Here the Salt assembly constituency reported only 32 per cent turnout. In Haridwar LS constituency high voter turnout was reported in Haridwar rural ( 73.21 per cent), Laksar ( 72 per cent) and Piran Kalier ( 70 per cent) Assembly constituencies. Here Dharampur and Rishikesh constituencies reported only 51.80 per cent voter turnout each. In Nainital- Udham Singh  Nagar LS seat, Sitarganj assembly segment reported highest voter turnout of 70.15 per cent while in Nainital Assembly constituency only 51.67 per cent voters came out to vote.  Ramnagar Assembly segment of Garhwal LS constituency reported 61.60 per cent turnout which was highest in this LS seat. Here Lansdowne reported a meagre 40.10 per cent turnout.  In Tehri LS seat Vikasnagar Assembly segment reported 64.70 per cent turnout while Ghansali reported a low turnout of 41.50 per cent.
