Dehradun/Uttarkashi, 16 Mar: A long-pending demand of residents in the Yamunotri Assembly constituency has been fulfilled with the administrative and financial approval granted for the second phase of the Bangaon–Chopra–Kaslana motor road in Chinyalisaur block. BJP State Media In-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan has expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for approving the project.
In a statement issued here today, Chauhan stated that under the State Plan, administrative and financial sanction amounting to Rs 2.14 crores has been granted for the construction of the Bangaon–Chopra–Kaslana motor road (Phase II) in Chinyalisaur block of the Yamunotri Assembly constituency in Uttarkashi district. He shared that the proposed motor road will be approximately five kilometres long. It is expected to significantly improve road connectivity for residents of the region and make transportation easier and accelerate local development. Chauhan added that the road will also play a crucial role in connecting the two valleys of the Yamunotri Assembly constituency, namely the Yamuna Valley and the Ganga Valley and will serve as an important link between the two areas.
Chauhan reminded that the demand for the construction of this road had been raised consistently by local residents for past 25 years. He recalled that, when Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami assumed office and undertook his first visit to Uttarkashi district, the issue was brought to his attention by the people of the region. A formal letter was also sent to the CM urging his approval for the road, and during that visit itself Dhami had announced the project from Uttarkashi.
He said that although the process took some time, the CM has ultimately recognised the long-standing needs and concerns of the people of the area and approved the project. Chauhan, on behalf of the residents of the region, expressed gratitude to the CM Dhami for fulfilling the long-pending demand. He said the decision reflects the government’s commitment to connecting remote hill villages with the mainstream and promoting comprehensive development in mountainous regions.
Chauhan further asserted that Dhami remains committed to ensuring inclusive development in the state and that the planned development of hill areas has begun to show positive results, including a gradual trend of reverse migration in some parts of Uttarakhand. He claimed that several initiatives are being implemented in the fields of agriculture, horticulture and employment generation to strengthen the rural economy. He further claimed that the government is addressing fundamental issues in mountainous regions, including road connectivity, healthcare and education, which is a significant and commendable effort towards balanced regional development in the state.
