Dehradun, 1 Jan: On the occasion of New Year 2026, Uttarakhand’s Soldiers Welfare Minister, Ganesh Joshi, met the soldiers of 5/1 GR (Gorkha Rifles) at Garhi Cantt and extended his New Year greetings to them. During the visit, the Minister encouraged the soldiers by offering them sweets.
Joshi said that the soldiers deployed to protect the nation’s borders are the pride of the country. He added that it is the courage, discipline, and dedication of the soldiers that keep the nation safe and strong. He expressed his wish that the New Year bring happiness, peace, and success in the lives of all soldiers.
On this occasion, ex-serviceman Captain Dinesh Pradhan, the Subedar Major of 5/1 GR, along with JCOs and soldiers, were present.
