Minister Ganesh Joshi inaugurates renovated CSD Canteen at Ranipokhri

Dehradun, 8 Jul: Uttarakhand Veterans’ Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi on Wednesday inaugurated the renovated and expanded CSD Canteen at Ranipokhri. During the visit, he also interacted with ex-servicemen and their families under the Sainik Milan programme, listening to their concerns and suggestions.
The renovation and expansion fulfil a commitment made by the minister during his inspection of the canteen last year, when ex-servicemen highlighted the need for additional space and improved facilities. Honouring that promise, Joshi formally inaugurated the upgraded canteen.
Ex-servicemen and their family members expressed their gratitude to the minister for his efforts in establishing the CSD canteen in the Ranipokhri area and facilitating its expansion. They said the upgraded facility would provide improved services to a large number of veterans and their dependants.
Addressing the gathering, Joshi said soldiers and ex-servicemen are the pride of the nation and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to their welfare, dignity, and convenience. He said the government is continuously working to strengthen welfare measures and ensure the timely resolution of issues affecting veterans through the Veterans’ Welfare Department.
During the interaction, ex-servicemen requested protective measures to safeguard the canteen from the potential threat posed by a nearby seasonal river, along with the resolution of other local issues. The minister assured them that appropriate action would be taken on all their demands.
Among those present were Central President SS Matharu, DGM Rajesh Negi, District Veterans’ Welfare Officer (Retd) Colonel Farswan, ex-servicemen Anand Singh Rana and Rajendra Rawat, Gram Pradhan Sudhir Ratudi, and a large number of former servicemen.
