No one will be allowed to disturb peace in U’khand: Manveer Chauhan

my uttarakhand news Bureau

Dehradun, 26 June: The BJP has taken a firm stand on the Nihang controversy, declaring that no one will be permitted to tamper with the peace, security and social harmony of Devbhoomi. The party clarified that for the BJP, the interests of the state, its brotherhood and tranquillity are far more important than politics or elections. This declared stand of the BJP, seems slightly different from what has been seen on the ground however.
Responding to media queries at the party headquarters, state media in charge Manveer Chauhan criticised the narrow mindedness of opposition parties. Chauhan said that it is unfortunate that while the entire state is appealing for peace, some political groups are weighing this sensitive issue against their electoral gains. He alleged that in the pursuit of vote bank and appeasement politics, the opposition appears to be siding with disruptive elements, which the people of Uttarakhand will never accept.
Chauhan also accused certain external and local political forces of being behind the controversy. Leaders struggling to regain lost relevance in Punjab and parties rendered insignificant in Uttarakhand are conspiring together to disturb the atmosphere of the state. The party emphasised that it is the responsibility of all political and social stakeholders to cooperate in maintaining peace rather than adding fuel to the fire.
Reiterating Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s resolve, Chauhan said that the state government will deal strictly with anyone compromising law and order. The CM has already made it clear that no form of anarchy will be tolerated in Uttarakhand and that those found involved in anti state or anti national activities will face the harshest action. The government remains committed to safeguarding the cultural dignity and security of Devbhoomi.
The BJP appealed to the people not to pay attention to rumours and to cooperate with the administration in maintaining peace and harmony. In the coming days, digital platforms and social media monitoring cells are expected to intensify their vigilance to curb misinformation, while the police and district administrations have been directed to remain alert in sensitive areas.
