The officials discussed the proposed visit schedule and the progress of projects within the estate. The 132-acre Rashtrapati Niketan is under construction with walking and cycling tracks, themed gardens, a butterfly house, aviary, a lake, an open-air theatre with a capacity of 800, a public library and a food plaza. The garden will also include the country’s second-highest national flag pole. The officials informed that within the President’s Estate, a horse-riding arena is being developed to allow visitors to observe the care and riding of six horses brought from the President’s Bodyguard in New Delhi. A pedestrian foot overbridge along Rajpur Road has been completed to provide safe access to the estate. The bridge, reflecting hill architecture, includes lifts on both sides, spans 32 metres and is four metres wide. The public relations officer of the President’s secretariat Kumar Samresh stated that the horse-riding arena and the foot overbridge are likely to be inaugurated during the President’s visit. Murmu had inaugurated the President’s Estate and President Tapovan on June 20 this year. These sites have attracted visitors, with 4,753 visiting the estate and 15,567 visiting Tapovan in the last four months. The ongoing Rashtrapati Niketan project is expected to draw around two million visitors annually, he added.
