
PIONEEREDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the organisation of a divine and grand Kumbh in Haridwar in 2027 is the top priority of the State government. He chaired a high level meeting held on preparations for Haridwar Kumbh 2027 at the State secretariat on Wednesday. In the meeting, the CM said that all the preparations for the grand event of Kumbh should be done in time and works of permanent nature should be completed by October 2026. The CM directed that all the departments should carry forward the works with mutual coordination. Dhami said that all the works related to the Kumbh Mela should be done keeping in mind the extended Mela area and the master plan. He said that all sectors, routes, parking, ghats, camp sites should be clearly marked in the master plan, so that along with acquiring the necessary land accordingly, temporary use of the concerned land can be ensured. Also, to reduce the pressure of the crowd, construction of new ghats, expansion of Kangra Ghat and repair of existing ghats should also be completed on time. The CM said that to ensure the smooth conduct of the Kumbh Mela encroachments on government land and roads should be removed. He said that the works of Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructure Development Board (UIIDB) in Haridwar Ganga Corridor should be completed on priority in view of Kumbh. He directed the officers to ensure fast completion of the under construction Bahadrabad – Shyampur bypass so that its benefit can be availed during Kumbh. He said that all the internal routes in the Kumbh area should also be repaired on time and the work of strengthening the Mansa Devi, Chandi Devi pedestrian path should be completed on time. Dhami said that the zero waste concept should be adopted for solid waste management during Kumbh. Adequate arrangements for pink toilets and changing rooms should also be ensured for the convenience of women devotees. The CM also directed the officials to complete all the arrangements related to the safety of the devotees during Kumbh on time. MLAs Madan Kaushik, Premchand Agarwal, Aadesh Chauhan, Renu Bisht, Ravi Bahadur, Anupama Rawat, chief secretary Anand Bardhan, DGP Deepak Seth and other senior officers including Garhwal commissioner and Haridwar district magistrate attended the meeting.
