CM Dhami takes stock of preparations of PM’s visit at Dehradun airport on Wednesday PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake an aerial survey of the areas severely affected by the recent natural disaster on Thursday. The PM will also chair a meeting at the Dehradun airport, Jollygrant in which he will review the relief and rescue works in the disaster affected areas of the State. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Dehradun airport on Wednesday where he took stock of the preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit. He directed the officials to ensure all the arrangements are completed in a timely and fool proof manner. “Prime Minister has a special attachment for Uttarakhand, which is why we have been constantly getting his support and guidance during this difficult time of disaster. The arrival of the Prime Minister will further strengthen the disaster relief operations in Uttarakhand,’’ he said. Meanwhile the State administration has made all the preparations for the visit of the PM. In the review meeting of the administration chaired by the PM at Dehradun airport, the State chief secretary will give a presentation to the PM on the damage caused by the recent incidents of disaster triggered by heavy rains in different parts of the State. It is expected that the CM Dhami will request the PM for the relief package which will help in rebuilding the infrastructure damaged by the incessant rains in the State. The State government had recently sought a sum of Rs 5,700 crore as compensation to the damage caused by the recent disaster.  Uttarakhand Police has made all the preparations for providing security during the PM’s visit. The additional director general (Crime, Law and Order) V Murugeshan, ADG ( Intelligence) AP Anshuman and inspector general (IG) Garhwal range Rajeev Swaroop held a briefing session of the police personnel deployed for PM’s visit at SDRF battalion on Wednesday.
