DEHRADUN, 3 Jan: A high-level review meeting was held at the Sardal Patel Bhawan here on Saturday under the chairmanship of Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP) Deepam Seth to finalise the roadmap and priorities of the Uttarakhand police for the year 2026. The meeting was attended by the top and senior officers of the police headquarters and focused on ensuring efficiency, transparency and time-bound functioning across all branches.
During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on strengthening internal security, cyber security and intensifying efforts under the Drug-Free Devbhoomi Mission. The DGP emphasised that in line with the instructions issued by the Union Home Minister during the Anti-Terror Conference-2025, special priority be accorded to cyber surveillance and cyber intelligence from the perspective of the state’s internal security.
During the meeting, special emphasis was laid on the restructuring of the ATS, ANTF and the Traffic Directorate. In accordance with the directions of the Union Home Minister at the Anti-Terror Conference-2025 regarding uniformity in the structure of ATS units, necessary action was directed. To realise the Chief Minister’s vision of a drug-free Uttarakhand, instructions were issued to further strengthen the ANTF during the current year.
The DGP also shared that a high-level meeting of senior police officers would soon be held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister to review the agenda points of the DGP–IGP Conference-2025 and to finalise their effective implementation along with future policing strategies. To ensure prompt disposal of cyber-crime complaints, the DGP emphasised on further strengthening the 1930 helpline and improving its technical and operational integration with the 112 emergency system.
Senior police officers posted at the state police headquarters were directed to immediately submit concrete and time-bound action plans in line with proposals, priorities and targets of their respective sections. Instructions were also issued to ensure speedy and quality disposal of budgetary, procurement and other financial matters before the end of the financial year on 31 March, 2026. The DGP also stressed on early disposal of pending files and proposals pending at the government level to prevent unnecessary administrative delays.
Stressing the CM’s vision of “Simplification, Resolution and Disposal”, Seth emphasised time-bound decision-making and directed that all file movements be carried out through the e-office and e-file system to enhance transparency and speed. Effective follow-up at the government level was also directed for a decision on the proposed Centre of Excellence for advanced and specialised training at PTC Narendra Nagar.
The DGP also directed all the units to ensure timely filling of ACRs so that eligible police personnel receive benefits related to welfare, promotions, medals, commendations and other incentive awards without delay. Seth also insisted on a wider publicity to the Uttarakhand Police song, stating that it beautifully reflects the state’s cultural identity, the force’s sense of duty and spirit of service. He directed that the song be mandatorily played at major police events, parades, passing-out ceremonies, foundation day functions, training programmes and official functions to further strengthen morale and state pride.
Among those who were present in the meeting today included ADG Crime and Law and Order V Murugesan, ADG Administration AP Anshuman, IGP Telecommunications Krishna Kumar VK, IGP Cyber Nilesh Anand Bharne, IG Police and Director Traffic NS Napalchyal, IG Police Training Anant Shankar Takwale, IG Garhwal Range Rajiv Swaroop, IG Crime and Law and Order Sunil Kumar Meena, Dig Crime and Law & Order Dhirendra Gunjyal, along with other senior officers and all section officers of the police headquarters.
