The weather in Uttarakhand is undergoing constant changes. Rainfall is expected today in several mountainous districts. The Dehradun Meteorological Centre has predicted light rain in five key mountainous districts of the state on October 25, 2026 , with snowfall likely in higher-altitude areas. The Meteorological Department has indicated the possibility of very light to light rain in parts of Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh districts. Additionally, thunderstorms accompanied by showers are also forecast for these regions. The state may once again experience a spell of rain. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain and snowfall across these five mountainous districts, which could lead to an increase in cold conditions. Snowfall is expected at altitudes of 3,200 meters or higher in these districts. This snowfall, combined with rain in lower-lying areas, is likely to cause a drop in temperatures across these hilly regions, potentially ushering in intense cold in the coming days. In contrast, the weather in the remaining plains and lower-lying districts of the state is expected to remain completely dry and clear. Over the past 24 hours, maximum temperatures in the plains of Uttarakhand have been recorded within the normal range. Meanwhile, in the mountainous regions, maximum temperatures have been at or slightly above normal, resulting in a mild warmth during sunny periods. In the capital, Dehradun, the weather is expected to be varied; the sky will remain mostly clear, though there may be intermittent periods of partial cloud cover. Daytime will see plenty of sunshine. In Dehradun, the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 30°C, while the minimum is likely to be around 16°C. Currently, Dehradun is experiencing a pleasant, mild chill during the morning and night hours. It should be noted that the cold is intensifying across both the mountainous and plain regions of Uttarakhand. Furthermore, if the state experiences rain and snowfall, the resulting severe cold could add to the difficulties faced by the people in the coming days.
