PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun The chief electoral officer (CEO) Uttarakhand, BVRC Purushottam has said that the objective of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls is to ensure that no eligible voter is left out from the voter list and no ineligible person is included in the list. The CEO held a meeting with the representatives of recognized national political parties in the secretariat on Friday and discussed in detail about SIR in the State. The process SIR in Uttarakhand is commencing from May 29. The CEO said that the SIR process will be completed in the State on the basis of the eligibility date of July 1, 2026. In the meeting, the CEO appealed led to all the political parties for cooperation in order to ensure smooth functioning of the SIR. He requested that all the recognized political parties should appoint 100 per cent booth level agents (BLA) within the next two weeks. The CEO said that at present about 22,000 BLAs have been deployed by political parties in Uttarakhand. The State has a total of 11,733 polling. The CEO also explained in detail about ‘Book a Call with BLO’ process in the meeting. Under the SIR the, BLOs will commence house to house visits in the State from June 8 to July 7. The commission will undertake the work of rationalisation of the polling stations on July 7 and the draft roll will be published on 14 July. The BLAs can register claims and objections from July 14 to August 13 and all claims and objections will be resolved from July 10 to September 11. The final voter list of the State will be published on September 15 by the ECI. The meeting was attended by additional chief electoral officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande and the representatives of BJP, Congress, BSP and CPI (M).
