Dehradun, 13 Jan: Dr Anil Singh, Chairman and Head of MIND, Max Hospital, Dehradun, today released two new books by internationally acclaimed and much-loved Indian author Ruskin Bond — Indian Folk Tales and A Garland of Memories — at a brief ceremony held at the hospital.
Addressing the gathering after the launch, Dr Singh underscored the vital role of reading in maintaining mental well-being. “Books and reading keep the mind agile, healthy, and engaged,” he said, adding that a sustained love for books fosters clarity of thought, emotional balance, and a habit of reflective living. Describing Ruskin Bond as a personal favourite, Dr Singh noted that the newly released titles offer deeply enriching reading and deserve a place in every family library.
Dr Anil K Singh is among India’s most respected neurosurgeons and is widely credited with establishing Max Hospital, Dehradun, as a centre of excellence. A pioneer in the use of operating microscopes in neurological surgery, he has played a key role in advancing safer, minimally invasive procedures. Dr Singh is the author of three authoritative textbooks on neurosurgery and is regarded as one of India’s foremost experts in spine surgery.
The books have been published by Natraj Publishers, Dehradun.
