
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun An emotional scene unfolded when chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was inspecting the relief and rescue operations in the disaster hit Dharali area of Uttarkashi district on Friday. Dhangauri Baraulia, a resident of Isanpur in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, had come to Uttarakhand with her family to visit Gangotri. On August 5, when the disaster struck, she along with her family were in Dharali. The situation had become extremely challenging due to the blockage of the roads. Baraulia family was rescued by the rescue workers on Thursday. On Friday, a day before Rakshabandhan, Dhangauri Baraulia got emotional and tore a piece of her dupatta and tied it on the wrist of CM Dhami as a Rakhi when he was meeting the rescued people. This scene deeply touched everyone present there. A visbily moved Dhami said that the State government stands with every affected citizen in this hour of disaster and every possible help will be provided. He said that the State government is working with full commitment for relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction. Notably, the CM was on ground zero of the disaster area for the third consecutive day on Friday.
