Haldwani (Nainital), 2 Nov: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today launched a publication NKB Times at a programme held at Vintage Green on Rampur Road in Haldwani. Extending his best wishes to the entire team of the publication, he emphasised that impartial, positive and responsible journalism is essential for a healthy democracy.
Addressing the gathering, the CM said that journalism serves as a powerful medium for creating public awareness and conveying people’s concerns to the government and administration. He said journalists play a crucial role in highlighting the problems faced by people at the grassroots level and helping pave the way for their resolution. Expressing confidence in the new publication, Dhami said NKB Times would give due prominence to issues of public concern while upholding the core values of journalism. He added that the support of all the stakeholders is important for expanding the reach of journalism and strengthening it further.
The CM also referred to the concept of “Sabke Ram” and said that Lord Ram is not confined to any one religion, caste or section of society, but is a source of inspiration for the entire humanity. He said that the Indian traditions regard Lord Ram as Maryada Purushottam, an ideal ruler and a symbol of human values. He added that the life of Lord Ram offers lessons in sacrifice, self-discipline, courage, cooperation, dignity and dedication to duty.
Dhami said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on 22 January, 2024, had described Lord Ram as a symbol of energy, solutions and eternity. He said the ideals of Lord Ram convey a message of unity and harmony to society. The faith and traditions associated with Lord Ram from Ayodhya to Rameswaram, he added, strengthen the country’s cultural unity. The spirit of “Sabke Ram” inspires people to build an inclusive society based on mutual respect and human values.
Naman Krishna Maharaj also shared his views on the life of Lord Ram, his ideals and his spiritual significance.
