RIMC wins 24th Asian Challenge English Debate 2026

Dehradun, 19 Apr: Over the weekend, in a display of intellectual prowess, the 24th Asian Challenge was held at the White House Court of The Asian School, here.
Surpassing a formidable lineup of 15 competing institutions, RIMC seized the coveted Rolling Trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 15,000.
Furthermore, St Joseph’s Academy, comprising Jaivant Sahni, Anmol Ahuja, secured the position of first runners-up, earning a cash prize of Rs 5,000.
Renowned schools from Dehradun, namely Shikshankur The Global School, The TonsBridge School, Rashtriya Indian Military College, Mount Fort Academy, Scholars’ Home, Ann Mary School, St Joseph’s Academy, Shri Ram Centennial School, Indian Public School, Ecole Globale International Girls School, St George’s College, Summer Valley School, The Oasis School, The Aryan School and The Asian School took part. The participants spoke for and against the proposition on a very imperative topic- The House believes that environmental protection must take precedence over national Economic interests.
The pinnacle of the event was marked by the announcement of the following accolades:
✔ Best Speaker (For)      – Cadet Trijal Malik, RIMC
✔ Best Speaker (Against)      – Anwesha Mamgain, The Asian School
✔ Best Rebuttal (For)     – Chitraksh Sood, Shikshankur School

Best Rebuttal (Against) – Sanchit Batra , Ann Mary School
Best Team – Cadet Trijal Malik & Cadet Aviral Kaurav, (RIMC)

The ceremonial inauguration, symbolised by the lighting of the lamp, was performed by The Principal, The Asian School, and the panel of judges.
Speaking on the occasion, Surabhi Sapra (Entrepreneur and a professional wild life photographer), Neeraja Sisodia (Educator) and Charu Nautiyal (Educator) congratulated the winners and said that the topic was immaculate and eloquently dealt with by the students. They spoke about the level of awareness on the issue showcased among the young participants.
Principal Ruchi Pradhan Datta presented the winners with their well-deserved prizes in the presence of Director Gaganjyot Juneja, Bursar Sundesh Sharma, Head, Senior School, Mukesh Nangia, Head, Middle School, Sachin Aggarwal, Head mistress Anu Mehrotra, Deputy Head Mistress Surbhi Narula, Dean of activities Shweta Matta, faculty members, guests and the student body.
The vote of thanks was proposed by the Vice Head Boy, Aadit Saini.
