Dehradun, 11 Sep: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today chaired a review meeting regarding the proposed master plan for the comprehensive development of Madan Mohan Malaviya Oriental Research Institute, Rishikul, Haridwar, at his residence here. During the meeting, a detailed presentation was made on the proposed structure and activities of the institute. The CM emphasised that Rishikul be developed as a distinguished centre of Ayurveda, Yoga and Indian knowledge traditions, with special emphasis on Ayurveda, medical tourism, Yoga, astrology and Vedic mathematics. He also directed that high-level academic, research and study facilities be created so that the institute becomes an effective bridge between traditional knowledge and modern research.
Dhami stressed that Ayurveda, Yoga and Sanskrit are the unique identity of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and this identity must be prominently reflected in the development of Rishikul. He instructed that the architectural design of the campus should follow the oriental and traditional styles, with exteriors reflecting ancient heritage while facilities inside should remain modern. He said the project must embody its core concept in every aspect and create an environment where visitors experience Indian culture, knowledge and spirituality.
The CM also emphasised that all the works should be completed in a phased and time-bound manner within two years, with regular reviews to ensure progress. It may be reminded here that the master plan envisages Rishikul as an integrated centre for Yoga and meditation, advanced academic activities, Ayurveda and holistic health, Indian philosophy, Vedic and classical studies, art, culture and research.
Among those present at the meeting were Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretaries Dhiraj Garbyal, Deepak Kumar, Yugal Kishore Pant, Ranjana Rajguru, Vice President of Haridwar-Roorkee Development Authority Sonika, Additional Secretary Abhishek Ruhela and District Magistrate of Haridwar Mayur Dixit through virtual mode.
