Dehradun, 12 July: Sparsh Himalaya University has awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) to Sanjiv Kumar Sain from the Department of Library & Information Science.
He completed his doctoral research under the guidance of Prof Rajesh Kumar Singh. The title of his thesis is “Private University Libraries in Uttarakhand: A Comparative Study of Their Services with the Proposal of Their Networking and Resource Sharing.”
The study presents a comparative analysis of the services, resources, information infrastructure, and user facilities available in private university libraries across Uttarakhand. It also proposes a framework for networking and resource sharing among these libraries to enhance access to information resources, optimise the utilisation of library collections, reduce operational costs, and strengthen academic and research support through collaborative library services.
The research makes a significant contribution to the field of Library and Information Science by promoting inter-library cooperation and sustainable resource-sharing practices among private university libraries. The achievement has been widely appreciated by his teachers, colleagues, family members, and well-wishers, who have extended their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for his future academic and professional endeavours.
