Pauri Garhwal, 8 Jul: Uttarakhand Tourism, Public Works, Irrigation, Rural Construction, Religious Affairs and Culture Minister, and Chaubattakhal MLA, Satpal Maharaj said today that the construction of the Satpuli and Syunsi lake projects would open up new opportunities for tourism and livelihoods in the Chaubattakhal Assembly constituency.
Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the 2-km Kulhad Bend–Kinsur–Bharwadi–Kaindul–Dalgaon–Uman–Kinsur motor road in Gram Panchayat Kulhad, to be built at a cost of Rs 12.318 million (Rs 1.2318 crore), Maharaj said the Uttarakhand government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, is ushering in a new phase of development across the state. Referring to the proposed Syunsi Lake (Barrage) project in Bironkhal block, estimated to cost Rs 1.2341 billion (Rs 123.41 crore), Maharaj said the multi-purpose project would boost tourism, generate new livelihood opportunities, address water scarcity, strengthen the regional economy, and contribute significantly to water conservation.
During the visit, Maharaj also held a meeting with BJP workers under the party’s “Strong Mandal, Strong Organisation” campaign and urged them to ensure that the government’s welfare schemes reach every eligible beneficiary.
Among those present were BJP youth leader Suyash Rawat, district president Kamal Kishore, mandal president Sarvendra, district minister Brijmohan, booth president Digambar, Surendra Singh, Gabar Singh, BJP Yuva Morcha president Ankit, Anita Devi, Suresh Kumar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Rekha Arya, and other party leaders and officials.
