
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun Home secretary Shailesh Bagauli reviewed the security arrangements in the State in a meeting with the senior officers of Police, district magistrates and superintendents of Police at the State secretariat on Friday. The secretary directed that vigil in all the areas of the State should be enhanced and special monitoring should be done in the border areas. He said that an intensive checking campaign should continue in the border areas of the State and special vigil should be done in the areas near the international border. Bagauli directed that ANPR cameras should be installed in all the border areas and other sensitive places so that the tracking and monitoring of the suspected vehicles is done in a more effective manner. The Home secretary directed the officers to intensify checking at important tourist spots and focus on the security arrangements around the religious places. He also directed that the arrangement of CCTV camera installation in cities and sensitive places and ensuring their real time monitoring should be done. He averred that security and safety of the people of the State and tourists is the topmost priority of the State government and directed the DMs and SPs to inform the headquarters and the State administration on requirement of manpower, technology and other resources to strengthen the security arrangements in their districts. The secretary also directed that the areas near the government offices should be covered with CCTV cameras and appealed to the people of the State to follow the security protocols. Additional director general (ADG) Abhinav Kumar, ADG V Murugeshan and other officers attended the meeting. The DMs and SPs attended the meeting in a virtual mode.
