
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Haridwar Union Home and Cooperation minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Patanjali emergency and critical care hospital in Haridwar on Thursday. Inspecting the facilities, Shah said that it is the first hybrid hospital in the world.According to Pantanjali officials, Shah had detailed discussion with Swami Ramdev on globalising Yoga, Ayurveda, Sanatan lifestyle to rid the world of disease. Speaking on the occasion, Swami Ramdev said that it is a matter of pride for the institution that the first integrated hospital has been inaugurated in the interest of the public. “Here we will treat 90 to 99 per cent people through Yoga, Ayurveda, naturopathy, Panchkarma, Panch Mahabhut Chikitsa, medical water, food, fasting and other means. Stress, inflammation and contamination in the body are the main causes of ailments. Various Ayurvedic treatments in Patanjali purify the body,” he said. Ramdev further said that Patanjali is undertaking joint research with All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Rishikesh, Delhi, Guwahati, Jammu-Kashmir, Bhopala and others. More than 100 crore people of India are practising Yoga-Ayurveda with Patanjali having real world evidence to support this. Patanjali also has clinical evidence of EMR data of 1.38 crore people, he said. Speaking about the inaugurated facility, Ramdev said that it has 250 beds and includes all types of modern machines for diagnosis along with facilities for treatment of various serious ailments. Speaking on the occasion, Patanjali Yogpeeth general secretary Acharya Balkrishna claimed that Patanjali has established the world’s biggest integrated medicine system hospital. “We are already doing well in treatment of chronic diseases. In this hospital, the mainstream treatment will be Ayurveda while allopathy will be used as an alternative. The latest machines and technology will be used to diagnose diseases and surgery will be undertaken at Patanjali hospital only if it is very much needed,” he said. During his visit to Haridwar, the Union Home minister also attended an event organised by Gayatri Parivar at Shantikunj.
