Sikh delegation pays courtesy call on Governor

Dehradun, 3 Jul: A Sikh delegation paid a courtesy call on Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at the Lok Bhawan here on Friday.
During the meeting, the delegation expressed its gratitude to the State Government, the Chief Minister, and the administration for handling the recent challenging circumstances with sensitivity and effectiveness. The delegation appreciated the balanced and compassionate approach adopted in addressing the situation, stating that it played a significant role in maintaining social harmony and unity.
The Governor said that the Sikh faith has always upheld the ideals of “Nation First” and “Sarbat da Bhala” (the welfare of all) as its guiding principles. He added that Uttarakhand has consistently followed the tradition of “Atithi Devo Bhava” (The Guest is God), warmly welcoming all pilgrims and visitors.
The Governor further stated that both the Char Dham Yatra and the Hemkund Sahib Yatra are being conducted smoothly, safely, and in an organised manner. He noted that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure the convenience and safety of pilgrims.
Among those present on the occasion were Narenderjeet Singh Bindra, President of the Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib Management Trust, Rishikesh; Gurdeep Singh, President of Singh Sabha, Doiwala; Gurbaksh Singh Rajan, President of Singh Sabha, Dehradun; Balbir Singh Sahni, President of Gurudwara Race Course; and Onkar Singh, President of Singh Sabha, Noonawala.
