
PIONEER NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that apart from emphasising on the simplification in loan processes and insurance claims, the banks should also focus on increasing the credit deposit ratio. He was addressing the meeting of the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) here on Friday. He said that in order to ensure that people get full benefit of the schemes of the Central and State governments, the process of providing loans to the beneficiaries under various schemes should be further simplified. Dhami said that solving public problems should be the top priority and special attention should be paid towards simplifying the processes of insurance claims in agricultural insurance schemes. The CM said that more efforts should be made to increase the credit deposit ratio (CDR) of the State. The CDR of the State has increased from 54 percent to 54.26 percent in the financial year 2024-25 and efforts should be made to take it to 60 per cent, he said. Expressing concern on low CDR in the mountainous districts of the State, especially Tehri, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Almora, Pauri and Bageshwar districts, the CM said that efforts should be made to increase CDR in these districts. He suggested that mega camps should be organised in all the districts in the month of October to ensure that people get the benefits of public welfare schemes at one place on the same day. In these camps the officials of all the departments and bankers should sit together and solve the public problems and ensure that they get benefit of various schemes, Dhami said. It was informed in the meeting that 48,000 persons per lakh population of the State have received insurance coverage under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana in Uttarakhand which is more than the national average. It was also informed that under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, the average loan amount of Rs 93,900 has been distributed per borrower in the state, which is much higher than the national average of Rs 62,686. Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana, 39 lakh accounts have been opened in the State so far, this figure is highest among the mountainous States of the country. The officers informed that in the financial year 2024-25, there was a growth of 10.26 per cent in advances and 9.09 per cent in deposits in the State. The Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali scheme and Mukhya Mantri Swarozgar Yojana of the State government are also eliciting good response. It was also informed in the meeting that a total of 6,10,636 farmers State have availed the KCC facility, out of which 67 per cent are small and marginal farmers. Chief secretary Anand Bardhan, principal secretaries RK Sudhanshu, R Meenakshi Sundaram, secretaries Dilip Jawalkar, Nitesh Kumar Jha, Radhika Jha, Sridhar Babu Adyanki, Reserve Bank of India regional director Arvind Kumar, SBI chief general manager Devashish Mishra, additional secretaries Ranjana Rajguru, Himanshu Khurana and other officers attended the meeting.
