Dehradun, 29 Jan: “The soul of Sanatan resides in Gau Mata. At a time when we are drifting away from our roots, this film is a major effort to protect the vanishing Gau Mata and to make people understand her importance.”
These remarks were made by the State’s Tourism, Religious Affairs, and Culture Minister, Satpal Maharaj, on Thursday at his camp office on Subhash Road, during the launch of the teaser, song, and poster of the film “Godaan”, made under the banner of Kamdhenu International Production and based on the significance of Gau Mata. Congratulating the entire team for the film’s production, he said that the Bollywood film industry is currently going through a major phase of change. Films are no longer limited to traditional, family-oriented stories; filmmakers and directors are now exploring diverse and unconventional subjects, ranging from social issues to suspense thrillers.
Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Maharaj said that the feature film “Godaan”, directed by Vinod Chaudhary, aims to explain the importance of Gau Mata in Indian culture and Sanatan Dharma, and will be released in cinemas across the country from 6 February. Presenting the film from a scientific perspective, the producer, director, artists, and guests have delivered a strong message to society. The film is not meant for any particular individual but serves as a powerful medium to connect the youth of the country with their culture and Sanatan values.
Maharaj expressed his belief that, if people involved in crimes such as cow slaughter watch this film even once, it could bring about a change of heart. He added that the film “Godaan”, made at a cost of Rs 40 crore, has been shot across scenic locations in Uttarakhand, as well as in Noida, Mathura, and Mumbai, to showcase its grandeur. Several real-life incidents have also been incorporated to make the storyline more impactful. Along with entertainment, “Godaan” delivers a serious social and spiritual message.
Present at the launch of the teaser, song, and poster of the film “Godaan” were Hemant Dwivedi, Chairman of the Badrinath–Kedarnath Temple Committee; Surendra Mittal, Director of the Vishva Samvad Kendra; Manika Sharma, member of the Kamdhenu Gaushala Committee; along with several members of the film’s team.
