DEHRADUN, 20 Dec: Senior Superintendent of Police Dehradun, Ajai Singh has issued firm directives to all the station house officers (SHOs) to uphold high standards of cleanliness across police stations and outposts. The instructions come in the wake of an unscheduled inspection by the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at Dalanwala Police Station,on Friday, where he had expressed strong dissatisfaction with the unhygienic conditions and over poor upkeep of the premises.
Responding to the CM’s observations, the SSP has mandated that the police personnel devote one hour every Sunday to voluntary labour, or Shramdan, on a rotational basis to ensure proper maintenance of their stations. The initiative is aimed at keeping station grounds, barracks and mess facilities in good condition. In line with these orders, personnel at Dalanwala Police Station carried out a thorough cleaning exercise today to improve the station’s environment.

In addition to physical cleanliness, the SSP has also directed all the station in-charges to keep official records updated regularly and to ensure prompt disposal of complaints received through online portals and the CM Helpline. He cautioned that negligence or delay in these responsibilities would not be tolerated.
To reinforce compliance with both administrative and hygiene standards, Singh has further instructed all Superintendents of Police (SPs) and Circle Officers (COs) to conduct surprise inspections of the police stations and chowkis within their jurisdictions. They have also been asked to complete the mandatory half-yearly inspections of all police stations at the earliest.
