St Jude’s celebrates 77th Republic Day with Patriotic Fervour and Holistic Learning

DEHRADUN, 27 Jan: As dawn broke on Monday, the 26th of January 2026, St Jude’s School was enveloped in a deep sense of patriotism and pride while commemorating the 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm. The occasion celebrated the spirit of Democracy and Unity, reflecting India’s rich identity and heritage.

The Celebrations commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by VR Gardner, Director, St Jude’s School, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The Tricolour fluttered majestically against the clear sky, filling the Jonty Multipurpose Auditorium with the spirit of Unity and national pride.

In her address, VR Gardner, emphasized on the importance of our National Song “Vande Mataram” which celebrates its 150th year, a massive cultural milestone in the History of India. The song composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, serves as the ‘Soul Cry of the Nation’. It represents the emotional and cultural foundation that preceded the legal framework of the Constitution.

The Programme featured a vibrant array of cultural performances showcasing India’s diversity and oneness. Students presented soulful patriotic songs such as Sandese Aate Hai and Vande Mataram, energetic Bhangra and a spirited dance performance on Jai Ho, reflecting the enthusiasm and talent of young performers.

The significance of the Republic Day was further reinforced through inspiring speeches by the Head Boy, Prakshal Jain and the Head Girl, Aditi Sehgal, who spoke about the Constitution and its core values of Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.

For the Pre-Nursery and Nursery Students, the Celebration was both joyful and Educational.
Children participated in a special assembly, sang the National Anthem and Vande Mataram, viewed displays of National Leaders and Symbols, and engaged in art and craft Activities such as colouring the National Flag, making lotus crafts and learning about India’s National symbols.

Nursery Students also performed the patriotic song Sare Jahan Se Achha Hindustan Hamara along with a lively folk dance of Uttarakhand.

Students of Classes I and II took part in meaningful Classroom activities. Teachers shared interesting facts about Republic Day, followed by role plays depicting Unity in Diversity and the ideals of the Preamble.

Creative expression was encouraged through poster-making activities-Class III focused on National Symbols, while Classes IV and V worked on the theme “My Dream India”, expressing their vision for a strong, peaceful, and united Nation.

The Celebrations concluded with patriotic songs, dances and the distribution of sweets, leaving Students with joyful memories and a renewed sense of responsibility towards the Nation.
