Dehradun, 29 Jan: The State-Level Children’s Science Exhibition 2025–26 was inaugurated with great enthusiasm today at PM SHRI IIP, Mohkampur. The two-day exhibition has witnessed the participation of 120 students from 37 Kendriya Vidyalayas of the Dehradun Region under the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
The central theme of the exhibition is “STEM: Developed and Self-Reliant India”, under which students are showcasing their innovative models across seven sub-themes, including Sustainable Agriculture, Health and Hygiene, and other socially relevant scientific domains.
The inaugural ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest, Dr Sanat Kumar, Chief Scientist, Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP). Other dignitaries present on the dais also participated in the lamp-lighting ceremony, marking an auspicious beginning to the event.
On behalf of the school fraternity, the Principal, Manoj Kumar, extended a green welcome to the Chief Guest and other eminent guests by presenting saplings and mementoes as a symbol of environmental responsibility. This was followed by a melodious welcome song presented by the students, which added grace and warmth to the ceremony.
In his formal address, the Principal highlighted the objectives and significance of the State-Level Children’s Science Exhibition, emphasising its role in nurturing scientific temperament, innovation, and critical thinking among students. The audience was further enthralled by a series of colourful cultural performances presented by the students.
On this occasion, the Guest of Honour, GS Rautela, Advisor, Science City, Government of Uttarakhand, delivered an inspiring address, encouraging students to adopt a scientific mindset, promote innovation, and connect science with everyday life. Addressing the gathering, Dr Sanat Kumarblessed the young scientists and appreciated their scientific models and efforts, motivating them to pursue excellence in the field of science and technology.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Senior Teacher Suresh Kumar, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, bringing the inaugural ceremony to a dignified close.
The event was anchored by Ashish Kumar Pathak and Lokesh Kumar.
