Wednesday, 08 MAY 2024 | my uttarakhand news | DEHRADUN The health of some students in a school operated by an NGO in the Rest Camp area of the city deteriorated after syrup of Iron and folic acid was administered to them on Tuesday. It is learnt that some students started vomiting and complained of ache in the stomach after consuming the syrup. The parents of the students, mostly coming from poor backgrounds, rushed to the school after hearing about the incident. The school authorities and parents took the children to the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital. The doctors attended the students and administered medicine to them after which the condition of the students improved. The vice president of Uttarakhand Congress Suryakant Dhasmana who reached hospital to enquire about the health of the students said that the Health department had administered syrup of iron and folic acid to the students after which the health of 22 students deteriorated. The principal of GDMC Dr Ashutosh Sayana said that treatment was provided to the students immediately after which all of them were discharged.
