Thrilling 30‑kilometre Mountain Biking contest concludes Niti Extreme Ultra Run event

Chamoli, 2 Jun: The picturesque and strategically significant Niti Valley in Chamoli district witnessed a spectacular blend of adventure, endurance and local culture during the three‑day ‘Niti Extreme Ultra Run’ held from 31 May to 2 June. On the concluding day today, a 30‑kilometre Mountain Biking Challenge was organised between Gamshali and Malari, drawing enthusiastic participation from over 100 cyclists from across the country.
The demanding terrain, rugged tracks and enchanting valleys tested the grit of the competitors. In the men’s 30‑kilometre MTB Challenge, Khariqsing Adonis Tangpu secured the first position, followed by Suraj Rana Magar in second place and Prakash Thapa Magar in third. In the women’s category, Avani Daryal delivered an impressive performance to claim the top spot, while Sandhya Maurya finished second and Indra Kumari Tamang, third.

The 15‑kilometre men’s MTB Challenge saw Prajjwal Chauhan emerge winner, with Ishant Singh Adhikari and Ashwin Rawthan taking second and third positions, respectively. In the women’s category, Priya clinched the first place.
It may be recalled that that this event was organised by the Tourism Department in collaboration with the Indian Army and ITBP. The event attracted more than 1,200 participants from 27 states. The objective was to promote tourism in border regions, showcase local culture at the national level and inspire youth towards fitness and adventure sports.
Throughout the festival, Niti Valley became a vibrant hub of sports, courage, culture and tourism. The active involvement of local representatives, villagers, the Indian Army, ITBP, medical teams, tourism officials and other departments played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the event.
