Mussoorie, 25 Dec: Tulsi Day was celebrated with devotion, faith, and enthusiasm here today by the Youth Wing of the Mussoorie Agarwal Sabha. On this occasion, a formal puja was performed at the statue of Lord Agrasen at Lord Agrasen Chowk.
Following this, prayers were offered to the Tulsi plant, and wishes were made for the happiness, prosperity, and good health of the residents of the area. A special aarti was organised during the programme, which was attended by a large number of people from the community. After the aarti, prasad was distributed to all the devotees. The entire atmosphere was filled with devotion and positive energy.
Anuj Tayal and Sandeep Agarwal of the Agarwal Sabha said that Tulsi holds an extremely important place in people’s lives. They said that in a house where there is a Tulsi plant, the influence of negative forces is absent, and the atmosphere remains pure. Tulsi is not only important from a religious point of view, but it is also a boon for health.In Hinduism, Tulsi is considered a form of Goddess Lakshmi. According to the scriptures, the worship of Lord Vishnu is considered incomplete without Tulsi. Regular worship of Tulsi brings peace, happiness, and prosperity to the home. Festivals like Tulsi Vivah, Kartik month, and Tulsi Day strengthen cultural traditions.In Ayurveda, Tulsi is known as a powerful medicinal herb. It is helpful in treating colds, coughs, fever, asthma, and boosting immunity. Consumption of Tulsi purifies the body and also reduces mental stress. People particularly realised the usefulness of Tulsi during the COVID-19 pandemic.The youth of the Agarwal Sabha also gave a message of environmental protection through Tulsi Day. They appealed to people to plant Tulsi plants in their homes and take regular care of them. The youth said that plants like Tulsi not only provide oxygen but also ensure a clean and healthy environment for our future generations.
