PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE /Dehradun The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Tuesday arrested two accused in the case—one involved in preparing fake freedom fighter dependent certificates and the father of a candidate who secured MBBS admission using such a certificate, Dehradun senior superintendent of police Pramendra Singh Dobal said. The candidate’s father, Arvind Kumar had struck a deal of Rs 45 lakh with the accused to facilitate his daughter’s admission to an MBBS course. He had already paid Rs 20 lakh to the accused. Dobal said that Kumar had given Rs 60 lakh to Rupesh Pandey – mastermind of this fake certificate for another two candidates known for her administration in MBBS – one also secured admission but third did not. The SSP said that from this police started to link the chain more accused would be arrested soon and in three months police would fill the investigation in the case. The Dehradun police also started an investigation in the role of the Common Service Centre and making of fake Aadhar cards. “Around 12 people are investigating the role of making fake certificates,” he said.  The role of the four candidates is not yet clear. Police have not established whether they were involved in the case, and their role is currently under investigation. On the basis of a fake freedom certificate three students got admission in MBBS and BDMC. Khushi, Pari and Tripti got admission but Swati didn’t get admission but money had been given to Panday. Notably, on September 3 police have registered the case in this matter on five accused Khushi, Pari, Swati, Tripti and Uma Devi (Tripti’s mother). During verification no record was found in government documents and all had the same address and grandfather’s name. After this all four MBBS admissions were later cancelled.  Kumar reveals how Pandey was involved DEHRADUN: Police called Arvind Kumar and Rupesh Pandey to Raipur police station for questioning on Tuesday. When asked how they obtained the certificate, Kumar initially told the police that they had made contact through Telegram. However, police continued questioning Kumar to establish the complete chain. Kumar later told the police that he had contacted Pandey regarding his daughter’s admission. His daughter had been preparing for NEET-UG but could not secure admission to an MBBS course. After this, he contacted Pandey for help with her admission. During questioning, Kumar revealed Pandey’s involvement. Kumar had paid Rs 20 lakh to Pandey, while the total deal for securing the MBBS admission was fixed at Rs 45 lakh. Class XII pass Pandey worked as education consultant DEHRADUN: Arvind Kumar, who has studied up to class XII has been working as an education consultant in Meerut for the last five years. His company is named MECODO. Through the company, he helped students secure admission to universities abroad for courses such as MBBS, BBA, BSc and others. He worked on admissions and earned commissions. Pandey allegedly handled the admission process, collected money and provided certificates to people. Pandey allegedly had travelled to Laksar to collect money from Kumar.
