PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Haridwar Union Home minister Amit Shah will be on a one day visit to Haridwar on March 7. In his visit, Shah will take part in a programme marking the completion of four years of Pushkar Singh Dhami government in the State. He will also review the preparations for the Kumbh Mela-2027 in Haridwar. The State administration is making all the preparations for the visit of the Union Home minister. On Tuesday, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Haridwar where he conducted an on-site inspection of preparations for the proposed visit of Shah. The CM visited Bairagi camp where the public meeting of the Union Home minister will be held and took a detailed look at the arrangements and issued necessary instructions to the officers concerned. He said that Shah’s Uttarakhand visit is a significant occasion for the State. He directed that all arrangements for the event be ensured in a well-organised, safe and timely manner. The CM thoroughly reviewed all arrangements including stage arrangements, seating arrangements, parking, drinking water, electricity supply, sanitation and traffic management. Dhami directed officials to ensure no laxity in security arrangements and said that the police and administration work in coordination. He directed that the convenience of the public visiting the event be given top priority. The CM also directed that medical facilities, emergency services, and fire fighting systems be fully prepared. He called on all departments to work in coordination to ensure the success of the programme. The CM directed the police to prepare a comprehensive plan to strengthen the traffic system. He said that there should not be any kind of traffic jam in the city and the traffic should remain smooth so that the general public does not face any inconvenience. Garhwal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey and Haridwar district magistrate Mayur Dixit gave detailed information regarding the preparations and arrangements being made for the Union Home minister’s programme. Haridwar senior superintendent of police Navneet Singh Bhullar gave detailed information regarding traffic management, security arrangements and parking arrangements for the vehicles during Shah’s visit. Bharatiya Janata Party State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt, district Panchayat president Kiran Chaudhary, Haridwar mayor Kiran Jaisal, MLAs Madan Kaushik, Adesh Chauhan, Pradeep Batra and others accompanied the CM.
