Cabinet takes decision on a total of 25 proposals in meeting PIONEER NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun Uttarakhand government has given approval to the State Millet policy 2025. A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the State cabinet held on Tuesday. Informing about the decision, the Secretary Shailesh Bagauli said the women self help groups will now get an assistance of Rs 300 per quintal on collection of millet products. Earlier this financial assistance was Rs 150 per quintal. In the meeting headed by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the cabinet discussed and approved 25 proposals. The cabinet also approved the State Kiwi policy to encourage the cultivation of Kiwi in the State. In the meeting the cabinet also endorsed the Chief minister micro food entrepreneurship encouragement scheme. The cabinet also approved the plan to provide subsidy extending upto 80 per cent on cultivation of dragon fruit in the State. In an important decision, the State cabinet approved the proposal to merge the Uttarakhand State Council of Science of Technology (UCOST) and Uttarakhand Science Education and Research Centre (USERC). The cabinet also approved the proposal of the education department under which the students of class I to XII will be provided notebooks. A proposal to increase the financial powers of the district magistrates and commissioner under the disaster management department was also approved by the cabinet. DMs can now approve a budget of Rs one crore while commissioners can spend a sum of Rs five crores under disaster management .
