PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made his Mann Ki Baat programme a programme of the masses which inspires many while Uttarakhand is also progressing on the path shown by him. Speaking after listening to the 130th episode at the Doon Library and Research Centre on Sunday, he said that various innovations are taking place in the nation under Modi’s leadership. The country is progressing when it comes to innovations, science, technology and artificial intelligence. Referring to the rising influence of AI, Dhami said that it will have an important role in all works in the future. Departments related to science, IT and technology are also working on the use of AI in the State, he said. “With the PM’s inspiration, various decisions have been taken for the first time in Uttarakhand. January 27 will mark one year of the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). We had promised the people before the 2022 Vidhan Sabha elections that we would implement the UCC and we fulfilled it. Being a border State with the Char Dham and the origins of Ganga and Yamuna rivers, Uttarakhand is very sensitive from the security point of view. Considering this, a uniform law should have been in place for the people living here and we did this,” he said. The CM also requested all to ensure that the public welfare schemes of the Central and State governments along with decisions taken at the State level reach all the people. This will maximise the number of people who benefit from government schemes, Dhami added. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party also heard the programme across the State. Party State president Mahendra Bhatt said that Uttarakhand is following the path shown by Modi by facilitating all-round development while taking along on culture, heritage, tradition and innovation. The programme’s first episode of the year was focused on how to move forward throughout the year. “We will work with more energy on enhancement of culture and traditions among youth, which the PM mentioned along with development. Uttarakhand is also moving forward on the path shown by the PM when it comes to millets. We have to ensure a major role of millets in the State’s economy this year. Cleanliness and the environment are very important parts of Uttarakhand which we will have to inculcate in our daily routine with public participation,” Bhatt said.
