PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun The Uttarakhand government will celebrate the grounding of projects of about Rs one lakh crore in a ceremony in Rudrapur, Udham Singh Nagar on Saturday. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) of these projects were inked during Global Investor Summit held in Dehradun in December 2023.  The State government has named the ceremony Uttarakhand Investment Festival and has claimed that for the first time in the country, the actual status of investment is being presented to the public through an event.  The Union Home minister Amit Shah will be the chief guest in the programme at the sports stadium in Rudrapur.  The programme will be attended by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, representatives of newly established industries in various areas of Uttarakhand and other dignitaries.   CM Dhami said that the investment agreements made with industry groups during the Global Investor Summit are now coming into execution. “This is also creating new employment opportunities in Uttarakhand. We are providing all possible help for setting up industries. With strong infrastructure and a peaceful environment, Uttarakhand has emerged as the choice of investors,’’ he said.  The objective of the State government behind organising the event is to give a message to the industry and to encourage the investment environment in Uttarakhand. It is pertinent to mention here that during the Global Investor Summit held in Dehradun in December 2023, a total of 1,779 MoUs worth a total of Rs 3,57,693 crore were signed between the State government and representatives of industry.  In the Global Investors Summit-2023 MoUs worth Rs 1,03,459 crore were signed  in the energy sector and out of them grounding of projects worth Rs 40,341 crore has been done so far. Similarly grounding of projects worth Rs 34,086 crore in industry, Rs 8,635 crore in tourism, Rs 5,116 crore in higher education and Rs 3,292 crore in other sectors has been done so far.
