U’khand to crack down on spurious medicines – myuttarakhandnews.com | Uttarakhand News in English | Dehradun News Today| News Uttarakhand | Uttarakhand latest news

PIONEEREDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun  Uttarakhand government will soon undertake an intensive campaign against the manufacturing and sale of spurious medicines in the State. An order in this regard was given by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami during a high level meeting at his residence on Saturday. The order of CM comes in the wake of recent arrests made by the Special Task Force (STF) of the people involved in the business of spurious medicines under the names of branded pharmaceutical products. On a stern note, the CM said that any attempt to compromise with public health will not be tolerated. He directed the district magistrates, Police and Health departments to undertake an intensive campaign to completely end the manufacture and sale of fake medicines in the State. Dhami said that strict action should be taken against those dealing in fake medicines and the entire network should be demolished.  He said that resolving the problems of the families affected by the Dharali disaster and making arrangements for their rehabilitation, relief and livelihood is the top priority of the government. The CM directed that the committee headed by the secretary Revenue on the natural disaster should submit its report soon. He said that based on the report of the committee, rehabilitation and relief works would be undertaken on a large scale. In the meeting, the CM also asked the State administration to undertake a mega Swadeshi campaign in the State. He said that this campaign would be an important step towards a self-reliant India. Dhami also called upon the ministers, officers and employees to promote local products. He directed that indigenous products and equipment should be given priority in government purchases. The CM expressed confidence that the recent changes in the GST slab will give further boost to indigenous products. He said that special training programmes should be organised for Agniveers in the police training centres. The CM said that the government is working with full commitment to fulfil the promises made to the people of the state in the vision document.  He averred that the State government is working with dedication while considering the public sentiments and aspirations.
