
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun A system of token with an electronic display system for the convenience of the pilgrims will be implemented for Darshans in the Char Dham temples. Chief secretary Anand Bardhan has directed the officers of the State administration to implement the token and display system in the Char Dham Yatra this year. He gave the order while chairing a meeting with the senior officers of State administration and district magistrates on the Kedarnath reconstruction and Badrinath master plan projects on Wednesday. The CS said that identification of the practical problems during the Char Dham Yatra and their solutions is needed for a safe and systematic Yatra. He said that the pilgrims should return home with happy memories and pleasant experiences in the Char Dham Yatra. “We should ensure this level of preparation,’’ he said. On the implementation of the Token system in the Char Dhams, the CS said that the electronic display should mention the token number of the pilgrims. He also asked the officers to ensure that golf carts and all-terrain vehicles are available for the old and physically impaired pilgrims. The CS also directed the officers to make arrangements of signage and QR code based display boards on the Yatra routes to provide necessary information to the pilgrims. He directed the Tourism department to provide facilities for certified guides at all tourist spots. The CS asked the department to prepare a tourist guide training programme. He said that after completion of Kedarnath ropeway project, the pilgrim load at Kedarnath temple premises, Gaurikund and Sonprayag is expected to increase and preparations in this regard should be done in advance.
