PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun The Uttarakhand government will establish a hostel for girls in every development block of the State. An order in regard was given by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami during a meeting held to review the status of implementation of his announcements regarding Yamkeshwar, Pauri, Srinagar, Chaubattakhal, Lansdowne and Kotdwar assembly constituencies at the State secretariat on Saturday.  In the meeting, the CM directed the officers to identify schools with the highest number of girl students in each block and provide the necessary land. There are 95 development blocks in the State.  He also directed the State administration to prepare a Programme Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) chart for ensuring timely completion and effective monitoring of the Chief Minister’s announcements. The CM directed that the departments concerned should resolve electricity, drinking water, forest fires, human-wildlife conflict and road-related issues as quickly as possible. Special attention should be paid to improving health facilities. The CM said that the officers should take seriously the problems raised by MLAs and resolve them on a priority basis. On a stern note Dhami said that government orders (GO) for announcements that have not yet been issued should be issued by June 15, 2026. All departments should resolve public problems through mutual coordination, he said.  He said that a new religious circuit should be developed by linking the Raghunath Temple, the Laxman Temple in Kot Block and the Sita Mata Temple in Phalaswadi. The CM said that the Education Department and the district magistrate concerned should prepare groundwork for sending proposals to the central government regarding MLAs’ demand for opening Kendriya Vidyalayas in their areas. The CM said that a multipurpose hall will be built in Pauri for the preparation of youth for competitive examinations. In the meeting the CM directed officers to ensure that the secretaries concerned prioritize the issues raised by the MLAs in the meeting. Cabinet ministers Satpal Maharaj and Dhan Singh Rawat, MLAs Renu Bisht, Rajkumar Pori, Dilip Singh Rawat, chief secretary Anand Bardhan and senior officers of the State administration attended the meeting. The DM Pauri Swati Bhadoria attended the meeting virtually.
