Union Budget lays strong base for self-reliant India, empowers youth: Subodh Uniyal

Dehradun, 9 Feb: Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal today described the Union Budget 2026–27 as a strong and forward-looking document aimed at empowering the youth. He stated that the budget would accelerate the journey towards a self-reliant India. Addressing the Yuva Budget Sammelan organised by BJP Yuva Morcha Dehradun at the Guru Ram Rai Auditorium in Patel Nagar here today, the Forest Minister claimed that the union budget reflects a clear commitment to the aspirations of young India and the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India).
Uniyal stated that the Union Budget 2026–27 accords special priority to employment generation, skill development and the promotion of startups for the youth. He highlighted that a provision of more than Rs 8,000 crores has been made for skill development and training programmes, with the objective of providing training to nearly 10 lakh young people in the coming years. He stated that through dedicated funds for startups and innovation, along with the expansion of schemes such as Mudra, thousands of new enterprises are expected to be established. He said that this would lead to the creation of large-scale employment opportunities.
Uniyal further said that increased investment in sectors such as the digital economy, Artificial Intelligence (AI), green energy and infrastructure will open new avenues for the younger generation. He emphasised that by encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship, the budget will strengthen the role of youth in nation-building and help make them economically self-reliant.
The cabinet minister added that the budget presented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been prepared with a holistic approach, keeping in mind the development of all sections of society, including villages, the poor, farmers, women and the youth. He asserted that such inclusive planning will provide fresh momentum to the resolve of transforming India into a developed nation.
Among those present during the event were Dehradun Cantt MLA Savita Kapoor, BJP State Secretary Aditya Chauhan, BJP’s Mahanagar President Siddharth Agarwal and other office bearers of the party, Yuva Morcha workers and a large number of young participants.
