
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that to meet future challenges, a next-generation data centre and an ‘AI Mission’ will be established in the State. He said that a separate mechanism for disaster recovery will also be created under the data centre and the AI mission will be developed as a centre of excellence. The CM was addressing a programme organised to launch information and communication technology enabled services at his residence on Tuesday. He said that next-generation remote sensing and drone application centre will also be set up in the State. The CM also added that a dedicated IT cadre will be created in the State. Dhami said that the State government is working on the mantra of ‘Hill to Hi-tech’ for Uttarakhand to move forward as a beautiful and technologically proficient State. The CM inaugurated Digital Uttarakhand App and 66 websites based on secure, scalable and accessible (S-3Waas) platform. Inauguration of GIS based web app developed for real time tracking of garbage collection vehicles in urban areas, launch of AI application innovation in 1905 CM Helpline operated for public convenience and launch of web based application for monitoring encroachment was also done on the occasion. “Today five important initiatives related to information technology have been started in the State. All these innovations will not only improve the governance system but will also bring speed and transparency in various services,’’ he said. He said that technology and innovation have expanded under the Digital India campaign under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that through the ‘Digital Uttarakhand’ app, people will be able to avail many government services while sitting at home. The CM said that 66 new government websites based on the S-3Waas platform will make departmental information accessible to the public in a secure, quick and transparent manner. The GIS-based web app will do real-time monitoring of garbage collection vehicles in urban areas. For the prevention of encroachment, any citizen will be able to upload a photo or video of encroachment through a web-based app, on which the concerned department will immediately investigate and ensure action. He said that the 1905 CM Helpline is an important medium of communication between the citizens of the State and the government. In this service too, auto-categorization of complaints, quick resolution and follow-up monitoring will be done even better with AI-based facilities. Rajpur MLA Khajan Das, principal secretary L Fanai, secretary Nitesh Jha, Ranjit Kumar Sinha, Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Neeraj Khairwal, V Shanmugam, director general UCOST Durgesh Pant and others attended the programme.
