Dehradun, 13 Oct: The Bharatiya Vaishya Mahasangh, Dehradun, convened a press conference today at the Uttaranchal Press Club to announce the details of its upcoming Diwali celebrations. The office bearers of the Mahasangh claimed that the event, scheduled for 15 October 2025, will be a vibrant and culturally rich affair, with preparations underway for nearly a month.
State President and senior BJP leader Vinay Goyal informed that this year’s programme would be presented in a new and distinctive format, setting it apart from previous editions. The main celebration will commence at 5:30 p.m. at Hotel Saffron Leaf, located on GMS Road, Dehradun. The evening will feature a blend of cultural and social entertainment, with performances by renowned artists from Uttarakhand. Prior to the mass Aarti, the guests will also see a display of tableaux, a Bharatnatyam recital, and a Deepdan ceremony, wherein lamps will be offered in devotion. The office bearers and representatives from various districts across Uttarakhand, including Dehradun, are expected to participate in the festivities.
Mahanagar President Vinod Goyal shared that a grand theatrical production depicting episodes from the life of Maharaja Agrasen will be staged during the event. Over 51 film artists and personalities from Delhi and Mumbai are expected to participate in this presentation, which aims to highlight lesser-known aspects of Maharaja Agrasen’s legacy that have not yet been brought to public attention.
State Patron Rajendra Goel announced that the organising committee will distribute beautifully adorned Aarti platters to all the devotees attending the programme. Furthermore, the Deepdan ceremony will be conducted at the main entrance as guests arrive, enhancing the spiritual ambience of the occasion.
He further stated that the celebrations will culminate in a mass Maha Aarti dedicated to Mahalakshmi, during which prayers will be offered for the global welfare, as well as for the prosperity of the nation and the state. Following the Aarti, the guests will receive Kuldevi Mahalakshmi’s ‘treasure’, comprising a devotional image of the goddess.
Vinay Goyal also added that Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, is expected to grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event will conclude with a community dinner (Sneh Bhoj), fostering a spirit of unity and goodwill among all present.
